This original BBC sequence shows a met police riot squad confronting some youths throwing stones at them in Enfield, North London on Sunday.

The situation was tense as volatile as clearly the images show.

It appears that a riot policeman uses a violent shoulder assault (probably including helmet) on an innocent bystander that was walking with this hands in his pockets towards police.

A second policeman appears to deliberately step on the youth's leg as it lies injured on the tarmac.

The bystander is thrown in the air and falls badly. The policeman also falls after the clash. The youth appears badly injured but nobody seems to be bothering about it. Original commentary does not even refer to the event.

This incident is important because it is very similar tactic used on newspaperman Ian Tomlinson during the G20 protests which ended with the death of Tomlinson.

;NOTICE: THIS EVENT IS UNDER A NEWSREEL DEMOCRACY INVESTIGATION. We will be making representations to the Enfield police on Monday Aug 8
