Guillermo Rigondeaux Sparring Katie Taylor

This is the third and forth round of the spar that took place in The St Francis Boxing Club in Limerick, unfortunately I did not record the first two rounds.

Rigondeaux was one of the most decorated amateurs of all time and Katie is a three time world amatuer champion and widely accepted as P4P the best female boxer in the world.

@Stoned1nDublin Really? I dont know about that I think Paddy Barnes has a great shout. I'm looking forward to seeing how Joe Ward does against Kenny Egan next weekend

yeah that is a problem with staying amateur too long, but it was at the very top level so hopefully all its done is sharpen his timing and reflexes much more than most pro's. providing he has the right training and sparring to get used to 12 rounds i see him going far. hands down style was used to great effect by jones jr and in my opinion one of the greatest lightweights and southpaws of all time, pernell whitaker. with rigs counterpunching and speed, he could have great success.

@sedod66 What I failed to mention was I don't like how Rig holds his hands low. I know its partially a technique to invite shots to counter your opponent, but if he fights any real competition he'll get touched a lot more. Also I recognize that Rig is really talented, and powerful but to me he has amateurish tendencies because he fought in the amateurs for 9 long years before going pro.

@hhanonymous are you insane? what do you mean IF he was holding back? he barely threw a thing and just worked on his movement. of course he was holding back. one of the best and most skilled male boxers on the planet is hardly gonna try and take a young girls head off in sparring. and he is southpaw. he is supposed to circle to the right. i'm afraid its clear that you know nothing about boxing.

I don't think so. Ofcourse he probably would be eating more punches but he seems cautious and fast enough to dodge most of the punches from anyone

Oh God this is one of the most amazing sparring sessions I've seen (and trust me I've seen a lot). Look how technical it is. Rigondeaux's easy, fast and graceful movement in, out, left right is just out of this world! Amazing! Thanks for sharing it!

@hhanonymous she won nothing,there was hardly any contact from either,obviously he wasnt even trying,he wasnt supposed to be her sparring partner,it was just a bit of fun.
