Willow Creek is the quintessential packraft trip of the Wyoming Range, commonly runnable for some 11 miles from the confluence of Hunter Creek below its headwaters at Pickle Pass to its confluence with the Hoback River. On this day, May 29, 2008, Forrest McCarthy, Derek Collins, and myself hiked four miles from Bryan Flat and put-into Willow Creek at Adams Canyon. After a brief warm-up section, we got flushed through "Adam's Apple," the crux stretch of the whole creek, and got a little footage. Enjoy. -Thomas Turiano
enjoyed the video. are you using any kind of weight inside at the bow to keep the front end down? I feel like my bow is always riding higher than these look to be.

No, not on this day trip anyway. Just really trying to stay forward and lever down with feet as much as possible. Note difference between Derek in yellow boat and Forrest in the brown boat. Forrest is much more back, so the bow pops up more. Forrest states that he has really tight/weak hamstrings which prevent him from staying forward. Our gang generally agrees now that as little weight in front as possible is best for maneuverability and preventing top-heaviness. -TomT
