Bowman in action on Stealth Chicken's 2008 Newport Beach to Ensenada International Yacht Race. This is how it's done on the bigger boats. When it is time to do a 'peel' or deploying a new spinnaker, then removing the old, the sheets, or control lines must be changed so that they can be put on the new kite.

  • I may as well answer your question as no one else is. Whilst racing and in order to reduce the amount of time with sails down yachts sometimes "Peel" the spinnaker = raising another spinnaker and then drop the original this could be due to an increase/decrease in wind speed or a change of angle making a different sail preferable. The gentleman in the video "monkey boy" is swapping the spinnaker sheet so the new spinnager can have the proper sheets and guys. i think its in the description.

  • can you please explain to me what exactly is happening here?
