I'm an American considering studying abroad and I found this presentation very helpful - even if not all of it applied to me. It was very well delivered and makes me feel a little less alone as far as culture shock goes.

I saw all the five parts of this fascinating presentation and it was very enlightening for me as i have applied in the US universities.I am having all the anxieties mentioned in this video and i am having a hard time figuring out 'The Americans'....

and you will continue to have a hard time figuring it out my friend. we have a population of 300,000000 with several subcultures, class levels etc. Just go with the flow when you get here. Good Luck!

I am an American and I found this fascinating. The issues of "indirect language" are so ingrained as a habit, it would not have occurred to me that this could be confusing, but it is obvious why it is now.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this, it was enlightening from my side.
