  • and as the final point, Did I mention the insurances with the highest rateings, best efficiency for cost, and the highest customer approval are ran by the government. Tricare/Government care (the private insurance for government employees including the senate) is around 90% VA Care the SOCALIZED medical system given to our veterans has a 93% loyalty and a 97% approval rateing, and Medicare with around 93% hmm yeah the government doesnt know how to run an health insurance company eh?

  • A sliding scale expansion of Medicaid, or a local co-op that had the power to bargain like the government would work well. Single payer, and socialized medicine are not the only options. Current health insurances don't even have to have a reason to deny you coverage. but yeah you pay 100$ whats your employer cover of your premium, how much is your deductible, if your insurance is so good why do you need a catastrophe fund for when they decide your too expensive to treat?

  • S you also do not understand the word Option either? I am not saying nor have I said at all that I wan a full on government only medical system, there needs to be reform period. And I dont shop for it because its my job that offers me my insurance, I got lucky and pay nothing but my company pays out the ass. But if you did a little research you would see the government runs a few successful insurance options that could be expanded or another insurance could be offered.

  • Ha, your either a consumer who doesn't shop around or lying. The average price of a major medical policy is around $100 a month. I get mine from Anthem of MO. I also have a HSA through Bank Midwest. Giving everyone paid medical services (mind you nothing is free) is only hurting the poor that truly depend on the government. So, its ok for the government to tax us for healthcare (social security) but not for a company to sell voluntary insurance policies?

  • That story listed above the guy was insured his whole working life though this company. he was an older gentleman paied them for some 30 odd years to, just when he needed the care, be told no. but nope he dont deserve cancer care does he? the option to be in good health should not be a commodity to the rich that can afford it, I dont now what dream world you live in but health insurance is not cheap, luckily i got a good job but it costs my employer 800 dollars a month just for me to have it 1/2

  • you to take the word "Fight" out of context. Insurance is a measure of risk, if you need proof look in a dictionary. Insurance companies are just that, a company that sells insures you in an unlikely event, for profit. Insurance prices are not high, its the actual cost of medical care! Again, insurance helps consumers fight the cost of high medical prices. How can this be misinterpreted? If someone goes there whole life without insurance and then gets cancer they are entitled to free care?

  • Voted for badnarik in 2004 and Baldwin in 2008. I have been a critic of Bush since I started paying attention to politics around 2004. I am currently unemployed and living off savings and help from family, not the tax payers. This reform is the kind of thing BUsh would support! This is based off of Romeny's MassCare! How can you honestly say in 2012 (w/ romney being the likely GOP nominee) that the 2 parties are opposed to each other?

  • umm no the health insurance companies are not fighting for anything but their bottom line VictoryCough. If you need proof do a little googleing and youll meet people that have been denied LIFE SAVING treatments to save a few bucks. Infact I remember a story not too long ago where they foght and sued and foght hard to get this mans cancer treatments, which the insurance finally approved, the day after he died from cancer... hmm yep fighting hard for the normal man eh?

  • Join in me with my campeign to call Fox news what it really is Faux "News"!

  • Single payer:

    December, 2007: Kansas

Single Payer would save $869 million

The Kansas Health Policy Authority hired the consulting firm of Schramm-Raleigh to do a fiscal analysis of five options for expanding coverage. They found that single payer (the Mountain plan) would cover all the uninsured and reduce state health spending by $869 million annually. The other plans would cover a portion of the uninsured and would raise costs between $150 million to $500 million in the state.
