Video of a young Glenn Gould speaking about music and its interpretation to an audience of children at a music festival, using the first movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 18 in E Flat Major (Op 31-3 "The Hunt") as an example.

Apologies for the really, really soft sound. I will try to improve this and re-upload it ASAP.

  • @demonninjaspider It's not the only one, you know

  • glenn gould is charismatic??? who knew??

  • I can't hear this at all, with my volume all the way up. I'm sure it's a good video

  • and parents all over the city that night wondered why their little billy or suzie started waving one hand in the air during piano practice ;-)

  • I wonder what the children thought. I mean, now all us Gould fanatics appreciate his talent and exuberance. But for the children who likely didn't have any clue who he was, I wonder if they enjoyed this little performance or thought it was...just a bit odd.
