Brilliant. I thought, though, that you were going to use the sticky side to flock the chandelier. Actually, that might be nice - add a bit of red flocking to certain parts, like stripes or the bottom section.

Cool idea. I might have to do this since I haven't any real light covers in my place just yet.

instead of wrapping the tape sticky side out you could probably use cling film then cellotape over it.
