we buried my gran yesterday (Dec 2 2011) and today I've been alone, listening to Townes van Zandt, Gram Parsons, and Guy Clark. The real poets of grief! No one can say it better.

THIS IS A GREAT SONG. A YOUNG MAN AND OLD. THE OLD MAN KNOWING TIME IS SHORT, TALKING ABOUT HIS LIFE. THE FRIENDSHIP THAT GREW WITH THEM.

Thank you for this.. When I was a kid, my brother hictch hiked the country.. he brought back a friend with a guitar. he played us songs after dinner.. This was one of them..
I recorded it on my little cassette Panasonic recorder.. it inspired me to be a song writer!
Love it! Johanna
