It was common practice in Europe up until the 1960s for singers to perform opera and arias in the language of the country in which they were performing - Di Stefano, Gigli and Schipa all sang a lot of their French arias in Italian. Likewise, Fritz Wunderlich and Richard Tauber sang their Italian arias in German. Yes, it's not as good as the language it was composed in, but that's how they did it. Thankfully, the world of opera is over that. How about you get over it too!!!!
