Love Bites—Chapter 15

Joe drove me home and when I got inside I saw David standing there.

David: Did you have a good time?
Demi: Yeah, the Jonas family is really nice. (I nodded)
David: (He smiled a little) You hungry?
Demi: Yeah a little.

We sat on the couch watching some football and scarfing down pizza.

David: So you and that Jonas kid . . . (He looked over at me)
Demi: What about him? (I raised an eyebrow)
David: Listen, Im okay with you dating and all but—
Demi: David . . . mom had this talk with me already . . . (I laughed nervously)
David: I know . . . I just want you to get my approval before things get really serious.
Demi: (I smiled and hugged him)
David: I hate to get all soft on you but . . . (He shrugged)

I laughed and finished up dinner.

Demi: Im beat. Im gonna go to bed.
David: Okay, night kiddo.

I changed into a tank top and short shorts. I walked into my room to see Joe standing against the window.

Demi: You need to give me a heads up next time. (I covered myself and blushed)
Joe: (Smirking then clearing his throat) Im sorry . . .
Demi: Its fine.

I crawled under the covers and looked at him.

Demi: Make yourself comfortable.

Joe moved a little over and sat on my bed. I wonder if he quenched his thirst. If he didnt, I might be a little scared.

Demi: Are you . . . okay? (I didnt know how to address the situation)

Joe turned around and the light hit his eyes only. I looked into his eyes. They were a bright maroon. I see hes been well fed.

Demi: Ill take that as a yes.
Joe: Sorry, its just . . . (He looked me up and down and I smiled) youre making it quite difficult to resist.
Demi: Im sorry . . . (I lifted the covers up higher and he stopped my hand)

I looked up to see him grinning. I smiled back.
