A lot of our most gifted artists around this time were well intentioned, gullible and seduced by pie-in-the-sky idealistic ideas of a communist utopia. Most were still good Americans, but some were led to betray their country for a bankrupt system.
I hope most people can see the artist for their actions and talents and forgive their naivity and never have black lists again.

@edr341 You're exactly right! I think the beauty of their legacy in music greatly overshadows any wrong thinking they may have had in the hysteria of the time!
