  • Actually, he has encased gold foil in between 2 layers of clear glass and is shaping a hollow stem for a goblet. This is one of his signature techniques...

    A maria is just where the hot glass has been 'smushed' together to form a wide section of a cylinder.

  • If you watch all 3 of the videos in order you can figure out he's making a goblet. The part he's working on here is called the Maria, I think. I may be wrong, but I think that's what the Italians call it.

  • any idea what he's doing?
