This is a demonstration of how my rigs work. They are very intuitive and simple to use requiring the animator no knowledge whatsoever on bones nor rigging. The animator will only use the "controllers" or "handlers" and simple spinners on them to control every aspect of the character.

  • hey if I gave you my email address can you send the pictures to me that is all i need iv been looking for a tutorial on how to rigg like this forever.

  • I don't have anything prepared right now. All I can tell you is that the best tutorial I found out there so far is the one that comes with 3ds Max. It's a bit more simple but works for most purposes. The only thing that doesn't go deep into is the script part. It basically tells you to copy and paste some codes but it wasn't intended to explain you why, which I think it would be a good idea to make a video tutorial to do exactly that. But if you are in a hurry, it will save you.

  • Special attention is on the legs, spine, arms and shoulder.

  • Just to gave you an idea (I hope it helps you somehow):

    - Linear IK for the legs.

    - Spline IK for the spine with some scripting for spine twisting and stretching.

    - Linear IK for the arms with three extra bones and basic scripting for the twist of the arm.

    - Linear IK for the hand and fingers.

    - Extra bones (actually, duplicated the clavicle and arm bones) for special rotation of the shoulder with scripting too.

    - FK for the head.

Special attention is on the legs, spine, arms and shoulder.

  • If you want, send me a private message with your email and I'll send you the scripts.

  • TUTORIAL!!

  • @Alusaint I'm working on some other stuff at the moment but I intend to make a tutorial on this in the near future. This kind of rig is quite easy to make and very manageable for the animator. What I'm not sure about is if I should make a video tutorial or just text with images. If I make it a video, it will have to be several episodes long. I'll let you know. Thanks!

  • It's not an animation by itself jazzwing. It's just a demonstration of how the character rig works.

  • This shows nothing?
