ROFL! Your comparing, the original Terminator, AKA Arnold Schwarzanager runs around in tight pants beating the crap out of people, to E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, a film which won countless awards, including Academy Awards and was one of the highest grossing films of all time? You really are an utter moron aren't you? Wow kiddo, you really need to learn what a good movie is. Have a nice day ^^.

et got 4 oscars an was fucking made in 82, Terminator 2 was made in 91 almost 10 YEARS after and got four oscars as well.... now if you are into children movies i guess your right but im a fucking adult i like ADULT things not children things like et that movie was GOOD FOR ITS TIME but their are WAY better movies like terminator 2 and it actually puts the question into peoples heads "what if machines become self aware" et was just fucking trying to phone home........ THAT WAS THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!

OOOOH! The exact same question that Battlestar Galactica put in people's heads in the 70's. Or Isaac Asimov put into people's heads in the 50's. Terminator 2 may have won the same number of Oscars, but E.T. won 32 other awards and had 28 other nominations. Face it kiddo, your Terminator didn't revolutionize any ideas that weren't already suggested but authors and film makers of much higher caliber. E.T. brought the idea of friendly first contact to the silver screen. Game, set and match.

Close Encounters was created by the same director. However Steven Spielberg has stated that he came up with the idea of E.T. when he was still in college, placing it's conception before Close Encounters, which he has also described as his E.T. prototype. As for Star Trek, that is a good point and I understand where your coming from. However, Star Trek's 'last run' which was technically in 2009, with the movie has nothing to do with who did what first. Also:
