Found on a fence at a friend's ranch last June.

This is about as large as jumping spiders get (~15mm or so body length) but adult females vary in size and some Phidippus species can easily exceed 20mm body length.

Music is a cover of The Ronettes' 1963 hit, "Be My Baby" written by Phil Spector.

  • @theophilus71 yea the funny thing is I hate spiders in general, most give me the willies, but I try hard not to kill them anyway no matter what kind unless poisonous. but these little guys I love and they fascinate me, so funny they are :)

  • @me373

aw God bless Hector :0 hope he's alive, whoa this kewl spidey.. theyre so friendly :)

  • These spiders look quite intelligent. Did you see the way she reacted when the finger got close to the rock, "Where the fuck did that come from?!?! I guess it's ok to climb on" Haha. I noticed that it was drinking some of the sweat from your hand too. Do they bite? Amazing all the detail you can get from a macro camera =)

  • She is pretty. Kinda cute in a buggy way.

  • Kill it with fire.

  • @Blackhawk5656 maybe a tiny little BLACK WIDOW???? LOL just kidding :)

  • @me373 nah he was a tiny little guy wasnt a brown recluse. i know what a brown recluse looks like that is like the only spider besides a jumping spider and the obvious ones that i can identify. this one was just a tiny little black one
