Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38UjQhfQL3c
Back in the days where men were still men, women were Night Elf Druids and World of Warcraft was all about 40-man raids!
After I uploaded Forte's killing movie of Onyxia, I got some questions whether I still got the MC vid of the same guild. Well, here you go! Pay attention though: because YouTube set a 10-minute limit on video uploads, I was forced to cut the movie in two.
Clan Forte started on the server Daggerspine (EU). This server became more and more laggy as the time passed (be it because the servergeek spilled coffee on the server or because of the massive amount of players joining), resulting in 600+ queues on a busy night. This basically meant that you needed to log in straight after school/work, then walk the dog or pay a quick visit to your girlfriend/grandmother and eat have a fast food dinner before you could actually start your raid. Anyway.
As Daggerspine suffered from massive lagspikes and epic queues, some Blizzard-employee came up with the crazy idea to offer a free server migration to Kazzak (I believe somewhere around June 2006). After their migration, Forte gained strength and began to play a big role in the global battle for the best Alliance guild on the planet.
With the release of Naxxramas in patch 1.12 (August 2006), Forte gained recognition after beating several bosses as Europe's first and even downing Kel'Thuzad as one of first guilds worldwide.
With The Burning Crusade being released on the 16th of January 2007, Forte kept competing with the best guilds in the world, being considered as the best Alliance guild in Europe. Even after the loss of several core players to the newly risen guild Vortex around that time, they managed to keep there place at the top, beating the latest raid-encounters as one of the first worldwide.
Forte even managed to slay Illidan Stormrage as the third guild in the world (Nihilum was first, Last Resort (which later also migrated to Kazzak) was second) and obtained the legendary Warglaive of Azzinoth as first.
The increasing amount of Kazzak-based guilds competing on a high level drew a lot of players to the server, resulting in a deja-vu experience for the tight community on the realm. Forte left the overpopulated server together with a few other top-guilds for the new (empty) realm Boulderfist (EU).
Struggling with the new start, Forte didn't manage to keep its head above water and disbanded on the 6th of June 2008.
This video is a tribute to the legendary community of Daggerspine and Kazzak (and of course to every single thing which was/is so damn enjoyable about this awesome game).
Signing off, Excandior (70 NE Hunter)
