US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visits Liberia 13Aug09

Dateline: August 13 2009, Monrovia Liberia.... United States Secretary of State Hilary Clinton continued her seven-nation tour of Africa with a stop in Liberia where she received a warm welcome from Liberians and President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf. In her statement to the press Clinton emphasized the support of the United States and the Obama administration for the Liberian government and its citizens as Liberia makes a successful transition from conflict to post conflict. She also addressed steps being taken by Liberia in partnership with the US government to fight corruption and promote the
rule of law.
