Oilers @ Winnipeg Jets GAME 3 April 9th/1988 HIGHLIGHTS Part 2/2

The Winnipeg Jets hosted the Edmonton Oilers at the Winnipeg Arena for Game 3 of the 1988 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Jets would end up breaking a 16 game playoff losing streak by beating the Oilers by a final score of 6 to 4 in front of a loud & proud Winnipeg crowd! The sea of white helped ignite the Jets to take an early 3-0 lead in the game before the Oilers started their short lived comeback. Goals by Olausson, Steen, McBain, Boschman (2) and Randy Gilhen helped the series move to game 4 for the Jets. The Jets had some good teams in the 80's,but they had to face the Oilers more often than not in the first round in those days,so that didn't exactly help their playoff aspirations much.

Amazingly, this was the first ever win the Jets got against Edmonton in the playoffs, snapping a 16 game losing streak dating back to the 1983 playoffs. They'd been swept 4 straight times (first two were best-of-5 sweeps) and lost the first 2 of this series before finally getting a win.
