Thanks for the upload bro! We should see more of these news. Here in Mexico for example I never saw news about the solar storms. It´s time to get well informed and start to prepare. We never know if and when it could happen. Peace

Intense Solar Storm Spins Satellite Out of Control
May 03, 2010 An adrift Intelsat satellite that stopped communicating with its ground controllers last month remains out of control and has begun moving eastward along the geostationary arc, raising the threat of interference with other satellites in its path, Intelsat and other industry officials said it's an unprecedented event.

@dafttool Also, while I like a good doomsday scenario like anybody else, our best defense against the sun's solar storms is the Earth itself. It provides an electromagnetic shield of sorts that deflects most of the radiation. Satellites are most at risk because they are outside our atmosphere. Damage can be done on the ground, but nothing like what would happen without our present "shield." Think Mars. It lost its electromagnetic field, and the rays stripped it dry.
