@chazbutcher I consider myself fortunate that I did not have to grow up around glam metal or early disco..But there are a lot of bands from the 70's-80's that I would love to have seen in their heyday. Boston and Foreigner being some of those, along with classics from Floyd to Zeppelin. Sadly any of those bands in concert today, are either not all original, or they just cant sound like they used to..Metallica being the best example.

@xWalleRx Steve Smith was awesome. He was playing with his jazz project called Orion. It was a tiny little cafe and his ride cymbal was just across the table from me. Slash was in G&R when I saw them. They were doing most of the stuff from 'Appetite' if not all. There were a lot of really bad bands at that point, at least IMO. I was more into bands that were less about image and more about music and at that point the trend was definitely the opposite of that.

@chazbutcher Oh man...Steve Smith would be an awesome show. Early GNR would be pretty sick too. Was Slash with them when you saw them? I know that Slash asked like 100 times before Axl finally let him in...Best choice they ever made if you ask me. Worst one being "Chinese Democracy" haha. Ever catch any early shows by the Crüe, or any other GLAM bands actually worth mentioning?

@xWalleRx Didn't spend a lot of time at the Roxy actually. Hung out more at the Whiskey and the Rainbow. Saw G&R at the Whiskey before they were signed. They were a much tighter unit before the fame kicked in. I did see Gary Moore at The Roxy with Eric Singer on drums, that was a tight band. The Rainbow didn't have bands when I was there, it was more of a bar / restaurant type deal. One of the coolest shows I got to see though was Steve Smith from Journey at a tiny place called Le' Cafe in 1985.

@chazbutcher Tell him like it is, man. Kids have zero respect these days...Who would you say had the best performance at the Roxy? And did you ever catch any shows at the Rainbow?

@txxmiles How, pray tell, does responding to moronic comments (like this one) that fucktards like yourself keep leaving me make ME the troll exactly?

To quote an old band "Where have all the good times gone?".....
@pearldrummer1 First off, I am 44 years old. I have been working professionally in the music business since the age of 18 when I did my first multiple major label showcase at the Roxy Theater in Hollywood. I have spent the last 26 years performing, writing, recording and touring the world with several high profile bands and artists. That's all I do, it is how I earn my living, and I live quite comfortably. What do you do for a living?
