  • We have added your video to the Shetlandlive website - the social networking site just for Shetland.

  • Isn't there a story to be told about a crew who had seen many winters and a craft that had seen none?

  • Oh, and I wish they would stop flying the scottish saltire at the museum. It's an insult to us.

  • Good to see our Shetland heritage being preserved but the names they gave the two boats were very poor.

It should hav been old sea words or something.

  • Very interesting video! The term sixareen/sixern is the same as "seksring" in Norway - a traditional wooden boat with three pairs of oars. "Seksring" is a contraction of seksaering, or six-oaring in English.

  • ye it was a big day. That weekend is one of the biggest weekends of the year with the Johnsmas Foy,Simmer Dim bikers rally and the street Carnival.

  • Glad I found this little film. It looks like it was a big day out in the Shetland Islands.

Was there anybody left in town or was the whole of Lerwick there? :-0
