@MrSchpankme I agree that the primary weapons would have been his bow and axe. The knife would of course have served utility functions, as you have described. However it may not be to much of a leap to imagine the knife being employed as a weapon as a last restort.
Otzi dagger was blunted used for striking the pyrite he had for making fire. The dagger was sharp which would also make it useful for skinning and cutting flesh etc. Otzi used the Bow and a Copper Axe for combat.
ancient cairns in franch show evidence of a axe symbolism, and since axes are the swords of the neolithic age it show that are bulid by a warrior culture, which must exist almost a 1,000 years before otzi
