Actually, I don't even think that Epcot is even the most unique Disney Theme park anymore. I would give that title to Tokyo Disney Sea...

@Sfcaguy2 Nobody is really sure why it was torn down. The strongest rumor was that the ride was built on a giant sinkhole, and they had to replace Horizons with something much lighter (Mission Space) or it would someday collapse upon itself!
Of course, the ride itself was always pretty empty in the final years, so maybe they just didn't want to spend the money to keep it's view of the future up to date...

Does anyone know what happened to the Horizons ride, as in the ride system, props, etc. I don't recall seeing any of it "re-used" at any other attractions at WDW. So sad to see that shot of Horizons as it was being torn down- it was like seeing the slow death of something. It was one of my favorite rides at Epcot. I guess it was all done in the name of progress. :-(
Thanks again for creating and posting such a well done video. It was great to escape from the real world for a bit and go back

You missed out when it was at its peak in the late 80s/early 90s. Seriously. I'm glad you liked it in 2000, but if you would have seen it 10 years earlier, you would think EPCOT ...or rather "Epcot" sucks now.
