@MsMoonTheLoon two commercials. sorry.

It must have been a funny/fascinating time for Bowie, or maybe it was dreadful/lonely like it was for Bill Murray's character in LiT. Bowie hardly ever traveled alone, even to Japan, but still. Kyoto, Japan, March 1980, filming a sake/shochu commercial inbetween Scary Monsters sessions haha.. One thing's for sure: The music 'Crystal Japan' (or Fuji San Moto) is a great instrumental. Most likely written and recorded during Lodger. It suits the commercial somehow. Fantastic track.

@MsMoonTheLoon It wasn't just one commercial, but three: advertising the same drink, Crystal Jun Rock.

"I'm going to kill you with this glass"
Bowie- "So what's my motivation for this scene?"
Director- "Um... I don't know, you're in Japan or... something?"
Bowie- "Sure, whatever, I'll make it work."

It's really funny how he stares omninously into the camera lens. But sexy too.
