The WWE was a soap opera for teenagers
-
I remembered around this time when I still lived in Detroit they were promoting Sid & Flair against Hogan and Savage and billed it as the Mega Powers Reunite One Night Only.
-
there was another 2vs2 of these guys except msg

@mikebryson With a build-up starting in late 91 going into WM 8, the WWE would have made it huge simply because they were so good at story building especially for Wrestlemania plots. Ya know, before there were 20 ppvs per year. King of the Ring started the next year and then the plague of ppvs began one after the other watering down everything.

@mikebryson I basically agree with that statement. It would have been more credible and had more merit as a main event at WM than at Bash at the Beach or some b.s. ppv from WCW. They should have done it but I don't think either guy was really willing to lose to the other due to the fact that up until that time, they were considered the biggest names and the best in the world and even of all time.
Like you said tho, if they had come to a compromise, it would have been huge.

Death. Taxes. HULKAMANIA. Three things that will always be around.

@shiringham and you suck at life.
-
I might be wrong but I believe this was Hogan's last MSG appearance during his 1st WWF run
-
Is It just me or did they model Brock Samson from the Venture Brothers as a shameless copy of Sid Justice?

It's a shame we didn't get to see Hogan vs. Flair at WM8. That was really our last chance to see the two in their primes & with the pressure of performing on the big stage of WrestleMania & The W.W.F. When they met in WCW almost two and a half years later they didn't seem to care, and Bischoff had Hogan squash Flair every time. At WrestleMania it would have been different. It would have been magic!
