The steps to getting in the driver's seat for the big gray dog.

---I know I used the term "unsteady and unconsistant," but you try saying unsteady and INconsistant 5 x fast! --
-----------------------------------------------------------
Special thanks to the people who hired me, trained me, and let me try this.

Thanks also to my passengers, if you rode in a bus I was the driver of!

  • Can I learn how to drive elsewhere, for exampel Sweden?

  • @andreasrindsater

I'm sure, but I know nothing about that. You would have to contact bus companies and the proper government agencies, and, if you're not from the country you want to drive in, would probably need to change your citizenship first.

  • One more thing say I couldn't find something else right away and I chose to stay with greyhound for a wile any idea what it wold be like driving out of Atlanta as a home base?

  • @mcbam989

    No idea. Anyone?

  • This was really helpful I've been thinking about the best way to get a cdl so I can drive a coach without going to a trucking school and paying 2k+ up front or being stuck in an employment contract for up to 2yrs otr driving 18 wheelers hope i will be able to now get it from greyhound then hopefully get a job driving commuter buses and have a normal M-F work week and get home every day smiler to a school bus driver without the stress of a bus full of kids

  • @mcbam989

Thanks. This is an alternative for some. For me, it's allowing me to return to work, myself, for a charter service.

  • Youre strange, weird, and kinda creepy also but none the less great video and info. Thumbs up^

  • that way you get all the endorsments you want. i have all of them hazmat, school bus, passenger bus, tank, metal coil, airbrakes, towtruck, now i can drive what i want! good luck people!

  • Hello great video i graduated from greyhound bus school out of atlantic from the nyc terminal. Everyone should be aware of the fact that if you want to used greyhound to get your cdl you will do a road test on a greyhound passenger bus not a school bus so that means you will only get the p endorsement which gives you less options of different vehicles you can operate. get the bus driver training from them but pay the money out of your own pocket for the road test.

  • @newtomlinson

Math questions were at the most 5th grade level. Funny thing was some people at the job offer were having a hard time solving the questions! Pretty much trying to see if you were retarded or not. Something like...

There are 27 passengers on a train. 12 passengers gets off at the first stop while 33 get on. How many passengers are now on the train.

Also, there was a simple map reading / comprehension with a simple grid. Very basic, yet it was very hard to many! WOW

  • @jackson6963

LOL, please do tell more. I agree their is a lot of b.s. that is true for almost any job. But it is not just a Greyhound rule that you must stop at RR crossing and open your and look and listen for a train but that comes from the Department of Transportation.

All most all transportation companies have a rule that when you are in the drivers seat you have to have your seat belt. Also, more are requiring drivers to wear safety vest while outside the vehicle. What is so abnormal?

  • @Artscola

BoltBus is part of Greyhound. Greyhound drivers can bid over to BoltBus and vice versa, they are both together.

  • @shawnbfromjersey what kind of Q?... was on the test.

  • @brandondet I live in NYC and i have my cdl-b permit my license is cleaner than clean, I applied about 4 months ago and they still haven't called me back too. I don't know if its the times or they just don't like my name.

  • @sideslide23 I am not 100% on this but if you have your CDL-A all i believe you need to do to get your Passenger endorcement is to take and pass a written test to get the P- endorcement on your license thats it.

  • @yukSchmuck This was really helpful man thanks, I have my CDL-B permit but i don't have the money for all the classes i need to get the training needed to try for my CDL-B license. I don't want to really work for Grey Hound but i want to know if you can get your CBL throught them for free. If you can do you take the driving test on there site or do they take you to the DMV on there dime (meaning with there bus)
