CN 121 blasts through St. Leonard on its way to Edmundston. Note the MM&A interchange track in the background. IC 2707 was in the lead of this very long container train.

  • I was born in 1942, my parent's home was about 200 feet from Cyr's junction,

I'm very familiar with the sounds of trains. There was a " train operator" on duty

5 days a week. No phone, they communicated by telegraphe. His job was to open

and close the "switch" for the CPR trains. I have a photo of Cyr's junction. I have a photograph

    of this station.

  • Thanks for the video shoot,,,train's my hero...worked for CN Rail in the 80s too as a desk clerk....Handbreaking at St. Leonard, where I live too....ADI

  • Anytime

  • Which I think was a little earlier than usual. At this time, the train would have been through McGivney probably around 4:30am. Most times, it's in the 6:30-7:30 range.

  • i enjoyed the video nice to see a big train once in a while
