The UK government has reminded shops and supermarkets that they must stop displaying cigarettes completely over the next 100 days.

  • I go to an arts school, and so many people do drugs/smoke or whatever (apparently that's a stereotype, but the first time I heard about that was a few weeks ago). I don't approve of it, but it's not my life.

  • @IvianaTheSignPainter Btw, YGOMusketeer is my other account :P

  • I've never met a young person that smokes. Go America ^___^

  • I smoked too much for too many years, and 4 years ago I quit and never looked back. One of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I know absolutely that smokers will buy cigs whether they're displayed or not; it will *not* affect their habit in any way, so why on Earth they're complaining about it is beyond me.

In Fla, smoking is prohibited in most public places; restaurants, stores, malls, even some parks. I expect it to only get worse as they look for ways to ban smoking altogether.

  • @octaquan That is a problem. Being drunk is a pleasant feeling (depends on the person of course), but when it comes to the taste compared to the feeling, lots of people (especially teens) will go for the feeling, which leads to binge drinking, which means more chances of alcohol poisoning and potential death.

Btw, Raiburuto (this video's account) and YGOMusketeer (this account) are the same person. I have two accounts.

  • @octaquan Fair enough, it's a shame that no one who smokes uses like that really :/

  • @octaquan You bring up a good point. Though, alcohol can be consumed safely, whilst tobacco can't be used safely at all.

If people are using vast amounts of alcohol, then it is of course much more dangerous than cigarettes since it'll have more immediate problems. But if a people were to have alcohol at the same rate and amount as cigarettes, I doubt it would be as harmful.

My point is there is nothing good about cigarettes, way should be cater to them?

  • @octaquan Benefits and negatives. Every example you've given has pros and cons to them (petroleum runs the vehicles that help us in are everyday lives), but tobacco has NO BENEFITS to being taken.

  • @octaquan However, I do respect that people can do whatever they want with their bodies. They can smoke, take drugs and eat as much as they like, it's there body.

But if the "hiding" of tobacco products will help reduce the people buying it, what's the problem?

  • @octaquan Potentially, everything can kill you, should be stop everything from being banned? No of course not. I'm not saying that alcohol isn't a credible threat to one's health (it), but it isn't as bad as tobacco in my opinion since alcohol can be consumed and be apart of a healthy diet when used responsibly. Tobacco on the other hand, has no benefits, only negatives.

Why should something that is only bad for you be given any more leeway?

  • @IvianaTheSignPainter Fair enough I guess :)
