Why Near Death, Because I did not mean to do it, it just happened..I went out for a midnight ride, the road was wet and iced which I wasn't aware of the Ice(that what made that happen) I used brakes and the ABS was quickly triggered, meaning wheels are sliding meaning, the car is on Icy road..the car turned to the right, I quickly put an oppesit reacting which was to turn left, there where the car spins..when i was facing teh oppesit direction of the road I pulled on teh handbrake to make a move as grabbing teh surface of teh road with my rear wheels..and finally the car comes to a complete stop at the shoulder.. Now, I have to say Subaru Impreza is a the best car I ever driven..AWD 2.0R, I have TEIN suspinstion with hard settings (5 clicks) on the damping force which helped alot..18" Wheels and STi Spoiler. the car is a Non-Turbo..

Advises:

- Use lower gears to slow down on downhills, dry or wet roads for safety..
- Make sure you check the road for Ice or snow before starting to drive..
- Drive at slow speed, you never know when you could crash..
- Never try to do it AT ALL.....

Thank god I did not jumb off with my car to tell the story..

  • I smell stinky underwear ~ x.x

  • @XDarkR3aperX Nope. You could see how calm I was

  • wait...why did you record this? did you know it was going to happen?

  • @MaxAmaSity No, I wanted t orecord the weather and the while driving in wet conditions, turn out to be icy!

  • You accelerated too aggressively. You drove too fast for the conditions. I suspect your tyres were standard UK road tyres so forget all the stuff you seen on the telly re: rallying etc. Finally you actually want to soften your suspension in wet conditions not stiffen it. We totally disconnect the roll bars in a race car.

  • @HenryGT3 Ya..

Mine were Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 225/40 R18

I didn't realise the road was contaminated

  • epic save!

  • @David2153 thats even weirder ;p

  • Not really sure how you didn't think there would be ice on the road when there is snow everywhere...

  • This is what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.

  • Very lucky there mate and nice control of the situation. I almost wrote my Forester 2.0l off on a gravel road when the back slide out around a corner. Scared the shit out of me and I took out park of a tree. but there was only a few scratches luckily. Who ever thought of highway tyres is a tool because they are useless in most conditions anywhere

  • Dude that was freakin awesome - nice save :D
