Observe how when Pires plays a pass he simultaneously starts a run forward in behind breaking up the opposition and giving Arsenal options. I feel many Arsenal players lack this quality today. Forward momentum.

@AveiMil Yes, but hopefully it's something that our current players can develop with age. Bobby was nearly 30 when he had his prolific goalscoring period, Fabregas is showing similar traits and he's just 23.

honestly he was a good player for arsenal but what he showed wasnt that special. giving him the price for best player of the year in 2002 was definitely a wrong choice.

Arsenal are never gonna have a playmaker like him, fabregas doesnt even come close, there never gonna have a goal scorer like henry, never gonna have a keeper like seaman abd there never gonna have a captain like veria.

I miss the old arsenal :'(

Amazing how he, having so many one-on-ones would make a square pass to make sure it would be a goal. Delight to watch. Amazing player, and a master buy, by Wenger. What a player. Just fuckin loved the guy.
