Chapter 12: Part 4 of the Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword 100% Video Walkthrough. In this video Link takes on the dungeon boss, Tentalus.

After defeating Tentalus I forgot to get the heart piece and did the skyward strike first. Is there a way I can get the heart piece?

Speak with Skipper and head to the island in the far northeast corner of the Sandsea, which leads to the Sandship. Hit the Timeshift Stone in the mast to make it the present, then climb up the mast and use the first pulley dealio to get to the far west side of the ship. From here, you can jump down to reach a railed area where the Flame of Din is found (and also where the Heart Container will be waiting for you).

even doe pepole mencion this boss looks like it belongs on Monster's inc, this model of a monster IS in Monsters inc, right before Boo scare the restaurant a cople of monster are taking a picture and there you can see the exact monster thats this boss XD
