Artist Sandra Semchuk Emailed me last week to share with me the 4th year anniversary of the falling up of James Nicholas. She shared a nice poem about the location of his passing four years ago, October 15th, 2011. So I thought I would create this tribute to Jamesey as some called him, I called him James, Hey you old dog, Buddy, Nicholas! Hey!, but always with affection and good humour. This excerpt will be part of my Hawaiian film in some sort of obscure way, once I restore some hard drives with edited footage of what was deleted from my external drives last December mysteriously from a backdoor on my desktop.
Former Hi8 Footage is from around October, November 1994, just before I travelled to Tokyo Japan with the Karen Jameson Dance Company in the cross cultural modern dance collaboration Gawa Gyani. I was speaking Cree in my performance as the spirit of confusion, the wild man, and needed to brush up on my lessons. So here are Cree lessons by the late James Nicholas. You were a great man James, See you on the other side
Technical Note: I blue screened James on to screen and in timeline, it is balanced to blue screen, but in final export, a dark line appears under James and it is out of whack B4 closing logo moment, so I am working on the problem.
