Dr. Richard Klein wants doctors and patients to get along better.
He wants patients to be more pro-active.
He wants doctors to be better listeners, and observers, as well.
It's all about the human condition; and we're all human, he says.
Pedestals are meant for vases and busts, not doctors.
What every exam room could use is a chair for the doctor to sit and listen to a patient. He learned that from a doctor while studying in Italy. Klein says he has lived and worked by that advice in his own practice in Yorktown Heights for 30-plus years.
He has learned a lot from his patients and his world travels that have brought him to the sanctuary of Pope John Paul II to the nerve-rattling environs of the Arab-Israeli wars.
