  • I'm so excited to get to meet Nathan Gunn this summer!!! I want to get some tips from him. :)

  • Are you enrolled in some sort of voice program where he's teaching, or are you meeting him socially? Because in my experience professionals don't just "hand out" tips - they are paid for their time. ;) Have fun, whatever it is you're doing. I've met him a couple times - very nice, just like the rumors say, lol.

  • Lol. That's awesome! You are very lucky! I have connections through an old teacher. I also think that the teacher I take lessons from in Champaign, Illinois knows him. I'm in college in Oklahoma studying vocal performance. Just started singing 2 years ago. Wish I knew I could sing years ago... but oh well. ;)

  • At least you started in college! I started studying voice about 3 years ago just before I turned 40, and now I sing with a local opera group. Who knew??? It's never too late to start! Best of luck to you!

  • I think they're being hammy on purpose. I haven't seen Marin Mazzie in anything else but I've seen Nathan Gunn in both comedies and dramas - he's a very accomplished actor.

  • I was there at the Lincoln Center for Camelot that night! What a great memory. Is this available for download or DVD in a complete form? That would be a great keepsake.

  • @MastersoftheOpera The point of old musical theatre wasn't to sound like today, that more operatic sound was what everyone did in the 50s and 60s when these musicals were written, because all singers, pop and otherwise, were trained professionals. Nathan Gunn is an extremely well trained, professional opera singer, and is also accomplished in musical theatre. Marin Mazzie is also trained and has many, many roles on Broadway from the Golden Era.

  • @MastersoftheOpera well considering there is a difference in acting for the stage and acting for film, I would say you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. They are perfect for the parts

  • @mlec91283 Gee, as one of the best leading ladies on Broadway in decades, I am sure Marin Mazzie is crying since you deem her only "satisfactory".

  • Julie sang it higher! Not anymore she doesn't but at one time she DID! LOL

  • I love this song/score but Julie did it best!

  • She looks a lot like Elizabeth Montgomery

  • They had weird costumes because it was an interpretation. It was also more of a concert than an actual full performance. Operas are done in modern or changed costumes all of the time. It's just a different interpretation.

  • it's a concert and not a full production right?

  • The costumes were all over the place in this production. Arthur wore a suit for most of it, Mordred wore some kind of 80s punk drag mix. I'm sure there was method in it somewhere, but a rather hidden method that I, and I imagine anyone who wasn't the main costume bod, have yet to quite place...
