champ car may be in a slump at the moment, but cart was way more enjoyable and exciting than the irl.

and i would rather see a race at road america than a race at infineon or mid ohio any day of the week

Laguna Seca is a hell of a course, if NASCAR ever added a 3rd road course to its schedule, Laguna would be one of my choices. Imagine stock cars trying to get through the corkscrew

This is the time when I gave up on Cart. The drivers had less talent even then. Some of those crashes looked stupid in terms of race driving. Upto 99 is the last great season of Cart.

I was at this Race. I remember the Carpentier/Tagliani Incident happened right in front of me. I was laughing my ass off for the rest of the race.

some great footage there, i will be coming back to see the other volumes!

these cars use to kick so much ass with the high rpm turbo-powered engines and sleek low chassis. the racing could be good on almost any circuit; the limit was more the drivers' skill and less the aerodynamic limitations of the car( see the dallara indy cars of today ). there are more of you, like me out there who really miss this shit, keep on talking about how great it is, maybe the tech comes back to the sport.

I remember this race so well, exciting as hell.

But do I remember right when I say that Paul Tracy had his little tangle-up with an other car in the pitlane, and in an interview afterwards he said something like that the CART could be better runned by circus clowns or something?
