If you do judge but then stop your viewpoint becomes regid, then brittle, then baseless and finally meaningless. This is because human societies evolve like we do.
We should judge and keep on judging, never stopping, constantly re-evaluating those we meet. If we find our fellows doing things we dissaprove of we should get them to justify it. If they can we should re-evaluate our own objections.
We are one species, we are in this together and we have the right to question each other.

One of the problems with criticising Islam in Britain is that the people you hear cheering you on are the people you least want to be associated with.
I think the problem with Jess's argument is this idea that we cannot judge.
I respectfully disagree, I think we should never stop judging.
If you never judge then you never get involved and you end up giving tacit support to everything - beit the wearing of funny hats or the holocaust, there is no difference.

@CayenneJasmine "Anti-feminism is against human rights!" - That depends which type of feminism you are talking about. If it's equity feminism you mean then I would tend to agree. Although I prefer the term humanism. But radical feminism promotes female supremacy, sanctifying women and denigrating men. This type of feminism, the dominant strain in the West, is totalitarian and antithetical to human rights!

The strong teachings of equality in the Quran are not shared by the political structures in many Islamic countries. In the same way that "Thou shalt not kill" isnt adhered to in America..."Under God" and all that.....
Religions interpreted for the benefits of the elite, a horrible state of affairs manipulated by greedy woman and men alike.
Morality/religion is subjective and another topic from social/gender issues. Otherwise we'll be here forever going over every topic in existence.

@freeheretic111 Lol so you actually don't know know what Godwin's Law is? Too funny and yet pathetic.

@freeheretic111 and I replied, I don't. I have no need to belittle anyone.
Only a seriously insecure and threatened person would try to break someone's confidence by telling them they aren't strong. You haven't succeeded.
If you are familiar with Godwin's law then you'll be aware that it states you have now 'lost' this discussion or whatever it is.It's ugly to you maybe, it's highly amusing to me. I love watching idiots tangle themselves up.

@freeheretic111 Lol, I didn't 'give you my word', dear. Meh, I find you amusing, you can entertain me for a minute or two. I haven't tried to belittle anyone, if you feel belittled by me being outspoken you are simply insecure- and you are a classic example of someone who can't deal with other people being strong. Don't suppose you've heard of Godwin's law eh? You fail.

@freeheretic111 Other men, genius. Yes, yes you did an clearly you've become used to trying to belittle women and break their confidence. You're a bully and I'm not affected by you. Frankly, you're too stupid to converse with.

@freeheretic111 Who do they experience violence from? Men or women?
You really are a fucktard- it's disgusting views like that lead to rapists being let off. how the hell do you know how many women lie about being raped? And how dare you speak of rape like it's nothing. You're a disgusting, weak excuse for a man and I sure hope no woman does you the favour of passing on your genes. You don't deserve it. Your replies won't be read.

@freeheretic111 No, empowering in my mind means equal rights- I think you'll find that's the defination of feminism too. Wrong- actually were I come from equal work still does not receive equal pay, violence against women is still rampant AND our governments are entertaining the notion of allowing sharia courts.
excuse me- you think men not having to take time off to have kids is bad for MEN? What about women who have to sacrifice careers for a none-too-well respected position in society?
Bumblybee256 1 year ago

@freeheretic111 1. Men are responsible for themselves. If empowering women 'emasculates' you then you are simply insecure to begin with. Holding women down to keep men feeling manly is a disgusting idea.
2. What special rights? Women are STILL paid less than men for the same jobs in many areas.
3. Er no, violence against men is NOT more common than violence against women.
Had a look at rape conviction stats recently?
Let me halt your little victim parade right there.

Islam and all anti-feminism religions should be banned in Western countries. Anti-feminism is against human rights!
CayenneJasmine 2 years ago
I would certainly not go that far. Banned? Hell no. It should be defeated intellectually

You've made some good points here. I'd like to hear her response. Questioning Boundless's authenticity as a feminist based on this is not really fair. I know plenty of feminists who have a hang up or two that causes/has caused them to be hypocritical sometimes. I'm a hypocrite sometimes. Are you not... ever? Sometimes we don't see our faults and its what we do when it gets pointed out to us that matters. But I don't think it completely negates our authenticity in supporting a cause.

I don't think she truly believes in the cultural relativism thing, and if she does, she probably doesn't think of it due to the massive amount of cognitive dissonance it would cause
