Host Robert Stack presides over an investigation into unsolved mysteries ranging from murders to UFO sightings. Through reenactments and interviews, viewers are presented with the known facts of each case. Anyone with additional information is then urged to contact the show's producers via a tool-free telephone number.

never creeped me out, i was 5 or 6 when i watched this, then again i grew up on krueger and jason.

As a child of the 80's I concur with everyone who was seriously creeped out by the UM theme music and just the overall presentation and unsettling mood of some of the re-enactments.

Robert Stack was the best man for the job. Not only did he make the show seem better, but for some reason it make the music seem more scary....which is what I love.

UM had the creepiest music ever to this day it still gives me the chills whoever wrote all the music for this show deserves a grammy.
