  • The type of instruction is horrendous for players this age. Show them something, explain what you mean, instruct them. You're punishing them for your own failure.

  • @gonoles36 - this drill is done after we have cover the fundamentals of blocking. We warm up every night with those techniques. But since you feel so strongly about it... why not post a video showing where we could do better.

  • Good Stuff coach! Nice variation on the board drill, love your enthusiasm!

  • Nice using it tomarrow

  • @gonoles36 yea and 6 up downs realy? barely punishment!!

  • u need big people for defends

  • Very helpful..in showing anyone how important it is to fire off the line run through the other guy and keep your feet mving

  • As an o-line coach, I see how this drill really gets the kids to fire off the ball. I like how you reinforced to stay low, low man wins! Short choppy steps. I noticed some guys getting their hands out on the shoulder pads, I'd have to yell elbows tucked and arms extended or something. I noticed and liked how the hex gives them an accurate amount of time to maintain the block. If they can maintain the block and keep feet chopping until the defender is moved out, the ball is up field in reality.

  • Blocking is so critical at that age! Another instructional drill I will be doing! Would love to see more drills out of this HEX
