This is raw and uncut footage of a Car accident that occurred in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea at the dreaded "corner of death" located on a section of the Poreporena freeway. I filmed this footage while I was on my way home from the local supermarket back in 2008.
A truck carrying timer from a yard overturned at high speed and slammed into a nearby fence , several vehicles and a few pedestrians, all on their way home. The footage contains some disturbing images of mortally wounded persons and inconsiderate opportunists stealing timber from the accident scene. Viewer discretion is advised.
At about 13:44 up the hill, the delineation shows a need for median barrier; either 4-tier wire-rope or double W-beam guardrail installed in the medium. PNG would do well to contract the current UN Convention On Road Traffic (updating its 1949 adoption of same) and amendements to date. It should also adopt the "Road Signs & Signals" attachment to that Convention. PNG needs help.
