@DanW900 It looks a lot harder in the video that what it is. The upshifting is easy just take your foot off the gas and let it do the work. The down shifting is a little bit more tricky. I keep my foot on the gas down shift, and then rev it up quick to get it down shifted, but I will stay with my 9 and 10's also. I'm looking at a Peterbelt 379 with a cat in it and it is a super 10 though.
@brossmart I don't like it cause I have drove 9 and 10 speeds my whole life. It takes some getting used to. When it's cold out, or when you first start driving they are cold blooded and do not like to shift until they get warmed up. I like my straight 9's and 10's yes you have to shift everything up shifting, or down shifting, but I think it's cheaper maintence and not to mention I can never remember what gear im in. Some love them some hate them. I have mixed feelings on them.
@dfdemt thanks for ur reply. I bought a truck with a Super 10 & the seller told me the same thing u said. I have a little trouble wrapping my mind around this. I was concerned there would be some kind of damage, but u driving S 10 for 5 yrs without a problem helps dis-spell my concern. Does this "no clutch" pertain to going up&dn grades as well. It's bewildering that EATON does NOT mention "no clutch" in this vid, U have thoughts on why. Thanks again for ADDING good & helpful info to this vid
Using the clutch during what they call "button shifts" and "lever shifts" is unecessary to say the least. Once you learn your truck and get the super 10 down, you will only use the clutch to stop and start. I've driven a KW with a super 10 for 5 years now and never had the clutch redone once. I just dont use it that much.....
love the super 10 very easy for me

What's all the fuss about this transmission some truckers don't like ??

I prefer the split shifting opposed to straight ten. A lot less work in shifting.
