I`ve had a number of Healey kin my time, but not one with the exhuast coming out of the right hand side with two silencers. Yet my Healey never ever suffered from fuel vapour lock in all the years I had them. Seriously looking at getting a BJ8 series3 MK11 later this year, then I might know why the tail pipes come out the right rear and has twin silencers. Not that it makes it any quieter from what I have seen ( and heard )

Sounds better without the exhaust then with it. I`m curious to know why the BJ MK3 series 3 had one silencer under the passenger floor and another under the rear bumper with the tail pipes coming out of the right rear ???? Can anyone please explain the diference Thanks

Yep the noise is fantastic! The neighbors thought it was less than fantastic. I assume the reason for the exhaust exiting the right rear is because these cars are notorious for vapor lock which is caused by the fuel line getting extremely hot by the exhaust heat. That means some folks moved around all that gobbledeegook routed underneath the chassis . I did nothing to mine and I have no problems with vapor lock.. Cheers
