  • Excellent information. Thank you!

  • @nintendo82 It's not a song, but a melody. A song has lyrics. Unfortunately, I don't know, otherwise I'd tell you. I told you this not for attacking you, it's just to precise your vocabulary, alright?

  • what song is this ?

  • Brilliant work!!!

  • David Leffel's description of painting is brilliant...... taking the information from the subject matter........"and just put down an abstract configuration of paint then you push the paint around enough to convey the subject matter". God I love that description!!! That's what he does so effortlessly push that paint around to make a convincing form and say what you want to say. Sounds easy, takes a lifetime to achieve.

  • Great artist. Like Rembrant in style.

I purchased one of your art tapes years ago and it was great.

    Patrick

  • He is a wonderful master.

  • People are afraid of subject matter because it could potentially be threatening to what they value. They'd rather just mindlessly look at pretty colors and brushstrokes. It's safer that way.

  • Just love him!

  • poplart.com. oil painting for sale

  • hey guys,if You could choose only one art work of any artist to learn the most from, as if it is only one "left" in the world....what art piece would it be for You?

...my choice is "Bougugureau's unfinished "chick" portrait, and Yours;-)

  • Very moving

  • Very well put, but is it also in one's eye !.

  • Most people today, "art critics" included, have no concept of the idea that the subject matter in a painting is just an excuse to showcase what paint can do.

It's like in film. It's not so much the subject matter of the film that makes it great, it's how the artists (actors, director, choreographers, etc.) use the subject matter as a foil to express the artistry of film.
