A schoolkid from Tagil, Russia created a new operating system for a PC. Bolgenos can become a decent replacement for Windows. In first place, author and developer Denis Popov doesn't take any money for installation and using. In second place, system has been already highly rated by leading russian programmers. How a teenager managed to make such a sensation? Daria Ustugova will tell us about it.

Reporter:

A student of eleventh grade, Denis Popov, is going in the computer science class. He wants to show to his schoolmaster which new features have he added in his Bolgenos. This operating system is fully his own creation.

Denis Popov:
I created a system, which implies an easy interface and minimalism. I'm planning to create my own office suite - Popov's Office, which will include all office programs.

Reporter:
That means that typing and creating tables can be few times faster, than in Windows. Also, Denis Popov developed a replacement for Adobe Photoshop, enhanced one! For example, an user can create visual effects. Operating system is being updated everyday, new programs become available too. Last creation of the school genius is his own antivirus.

Denis Popov:
It doesn't has any buttons, string or fields - only console view.

Reporter:
Console view is very simple, but is really powerful. Popov's Antivirus won't miss any worm or trojan. Denis is trying to create an virtual ideal. People in his school call it a miracle.

Efim Shirinkin:
Our Windows license ends very soon and we will have to use such programs. We got one program from Moscow, but it has so many troubles so we had a lot of problems installing it befora we got Denis program. It has absolutely no weaknesses.

Denis Popov:
Denis's classmates decided to experiment - to try his system on their home PCs.

Denis Lohtin:
I'm tired of those boring Windows wallpapers - you're changing them, changing, it's all the same, boring. And by the way system loads fast. In windows you need to wait like 30 seconds before it loads, but here it just takes five seconds and it's ready!

Reporter:
Denis spent half-year to develop his system. He got international license. And he is sure - there is no limit to perfection. Undone version of his operating system has been already downloaded by ten million peaople.

in your video I just saw GNU Applications like GNOME and Nautilus.

This is not an OS, maybe this is a Distribution like Ubuntu.

But in my opinion, every idiot is today able to build his own Linux Distribution.
