This was probably the most taxing run I've ever done. I began started at 6:35 am after having been up all night, I was recovering from a terrible headache, about halfway through the run I had to go to the bathroom really bad, and I needed to be done in time to catch my plane that afternoon. Then with all the drama during the final battle (I won't spoil it here), I was so relieved when it was all over. Please don't ask me what my final time was - all I know is that Poxnor decided I beat his challenge of 6:25, because he later donated the promised $1256.

This was a 100% run. This means I completed all the sidequests that Gaspar at the End of Time gives you near the end of the game.

On January 5-11, 2011, Speed Demos Archive held its second annual speedrun charity marathon, Awesome Games Done Quick, where we raised over $53,000 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation! You can download videos of all 100 games played during the marathon at http://speeddemosarchive.com/marathon/schedule

  • Essentia, this was an utterly amazing run. I just have to ask, how long did this video take to upload to youtube? at 7:15:05, I can't imagine it being very fast, lol.

  • @MilesTheWolfman Thanks! I uploaded it overnight while I was sleeping, so I don't actually know how long it took to upload.

  • I love it. Not necisarily a speedrun question, Essentia, but have you checked out the new Chrono Trigger - Crimson Echoes?? It "leaked" hehehehe, I'm positive you know what website has it. It's a great game so far!

  • @piratebuns I've heard of it, but I haven't played it. I'm not sure if I'll check it out - I'm not really big on fan-made stuff.

  • where they have the runs madeat all?

  • Just wow. Phenomenal endurance, skill and composure even when everything was conspiring against you at the end. Just the sheer number of routes to avoid enemies this required was an amazing feat for a continuous run.

  • 7h15:05 omg after the speedrun i think you were tired

  • 6:16:50

My heart just DROPPED. Holy crap I haven't been scared like that in a long time.

  • I couldn't understand why you healed Crono... I mean Poxnr during the Magus fight when he was only about 20 HP away from max. Then Dark Matter happened and it all makes sense. Can't wait to get back to this tomorrow.

  • This run had to have been draining. I couldn't even dream of running this whole game in one sitting. Very nice job!

  • Awesome run, It's a shame everything fell apart in the end because that was so close to perfect for the route you took it's unbelievable and could have possibly been submitted. For a one-shot and live: simply incredible.

  • Amazing stuff, Essentia. Congratulations on your run, and I'm sorry that you had to go through so much in order to end it. Huge props to Denton for being an awesome guy through all of it and major props to you for being the awesome gamer, woman, and queen of speed running (At least in my eyes you're the queen) that you are. It took me a few days to find the time, but I watched all of it and I'm happy that I was at least able to watch it. Thanks again for being awesome. <3
