Human rights activists claim the National Security Intelligence Service (NSIS) had prior information on the recent attacks in Isiolo but failed to notify the police. Internal Security Minister George Saitoti has however defended the action by security forces in the region. At least one herder was shot dead and three others were injured in the latest attacks.
