A tribute to the most beautiful actress ever, and a lovely yet troubled woman. I love Gene- she was the first classic actress I ever knew and is the leading lady in so many of my favourite films. While she may not be the most talented actress, her role in 'Laura' is iconic and her performances in 'The Ghost and Mrs Muir' and 'Dragonwyck' are sweet, charming and subtle. And let's not forget her Oscar-nominated performance in 'Leave Her To Heaven' which is truly and utterly mesmerising.
This tribute may have been more suited to Gene's deathday but I think I captured some happy moments as well as tragic ones. I hope you enjoy it x
The photos at the start are my favourite ones of Gene, but some don't have a very high resolution so sorry if they are blurred.

Clips from:
DRAGONWYCK
THE GHOST AND MRS MUIR
LAURA
THE RAZOR'S EDGE
THE SHANGHAI GESTURE
WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS

Music is 'Wong Chia Chi's Theme' from the film 'Lust, Caution' by Alexandre Desplat

  • Gene is the perfect icon for womanhood. Her image cleanses the mind and soul of everything but honorable thoughts and imaginings. I like your closing reference to a previous upload: "Put the lights out."

  • @shanghaibenny2 I totally agree! And thank you, I didn't intentionally do that but it makes sense. I just loved the last shot of her and the lamp as she is so pensive and her cheekbones are magnificently highlighted

  • A perfect selection of Gene Tierney images that prove she remains the

    epitome of beauty.

    Well done!

  • @northernoir Thank you very much :)

  • Wonderful tribute! I might do another Gene tribute....in a while though. I used Desplat's music too for my Natalie Wood tribute. Enchanting! I first saw Gene in the Ghost and Mrs Muir! (and Natalie was the little girl! I didn't know). So I remember Gene as my first classic (pre-50s) actress. And she's quite beautiful....love your photo montage!

  • @cloudidogz Thank you so much! :D I checked out your Natalie tribute and favourited it :) I'd only seen the 'Natalie Wood Forever' one before and it was great too

  • Benny,a wise thought, but not to worry. It's too late in my life for that to happen.I am content

now to just admire Gene, even though it's from an immeasurable distance.Like many,I've had my

share of personal experiences with with the real thing.

  • @northernoir

If the photo is on your desktop...beware, if there are any other women in your life. Gene can make them crazy with envy.

  • Beautiful photos.I especially like the one at.49.It's on my desktop.ZZTopRockman, you really

    have "eye" for creating videos.

  • Belle Starr is being shown on TCM next Tuesday. As they say, I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Her unmatched beauty shined so radiantly in that film.

  • Loved it ... so peaceful. Beautiful tribute! I can understand the pain in some of her expressions now that I'm reading her biography. I also have a child with mental retardation and I can't bear to put him in an institution, it's very hard. She went through a lot and how nice that she found love and peace in the end. Not only was she a good and beautiful actress, she was such a strong woman, what an inspiration!
