@dontwalkhand Not just in the US, other countries in North America such as Canada and Mexico have those decals too.
-
Looks quite a bit like a guillotine for my liking!
-
In the US a door like this would still get the regulatory "Caution automatic door" sign....would love to see that sign on this.
-
How do i get it
-
uno dis myt be a better door if used in a red photo room, and if the materials used where able to block sunlight and the remaning gap sealed, and the side bits not so floppy,. wud be a great invention for dat, better than the giant bulky revolving door they usually have. which is fink wud be much more expensive with all the metal and it cud be safer so dat no one gets jammed in the doors.

great idea but lots of problems and issues if used in family homes or even offices, unless u lived alone and had no disability watsoever, n wud it open if da person weighed too light? and isnt very sound proof either, would der be a possibility if sumone got caught in dis door?
The automatic door market is a huge industry. Why? Humans are lazy and want ease of use. There are even automatic doors to gyms!
There are an infinate other reasons such as not touching wet handles in toilets, disabled access etc.

Tordox - Thanks bud!
AznEvoIX - This particular prototype was designed to be fitted in a domestic environment where safety is paramount.
Please note, this is a prototype developed to demonstrate a basic concept. The design can be modified to suit different environments.

Would not take much to change the material for steel shutters or something more secure. Capped prototyping spending of £200 meant there were quite a few limitations.
