In the language Ga the word MABO means a traditional ceremony of praises and honour to a king, who has done great things for his people.

The group MABO was founded by OTOO ANKRAH in the year 2006 in Ghana / West Africa. The group MABO shows mainly traditional drumming and dancing from Ghana.

The founder of the group Otoo Ankrah was born in a family of great musicians and was deeply connected with music.

Since 2006 the group MABO has been performing concerts in Germany. In their performance the group MABO uses a variety of different traditional drums (e.g. Oprente, Kpanlogo, Obouno, Atompani, Goumbe, Talking Drums, Djembe). The drummers and dancers of the group MABO enjoyed a musical training closely related to the National Theatre of Ghana.

MABO offers drumming and dancing workshops for adults and children
