On Saturday, May 15, 2011, COSI hosted EMS & Safety Day in celebration of National Safety Week.
COSI Guests were able to meet fire fighters from the Columbus Division of Fire and other emergency personnel, and to get an up close look at a fire truck. Hands-on activities and demonstrations about bike and car safety were provided through the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Columbus Neighborhood Pride Program, poison prevention by the Central Ohio Poison Center, and CPR practice. Guests were also able to learn about heart health with the American Heart Association, and to meet the Blue Jackets mascot Stinger. Free bike helmets were provided by Nationwide Children's Hospital.
